Carla Cescon
For Something close to close (2015), I put together a series of stage set-like assemblages and documented them. Crafting a collection of objects, movement and light.
The sequence of photographs translates an element of tension.
A reference to a biomorphic Kafkaesque landscape consumed by private psychological drama. Its private nature examined through configurations of putting together objects that describe an intense subjectivity inherent within seemingly banal relationships.
As an artist I like to translate personal experiences and observations and then process it all in a different form. I believe it’s sort of like creating visual descriptions of aphorisms.
For example: a sweet Thursday can come after a lousy Wednesday. Some days just start out good but I proved to myself that I can ruin a perfectly reasonable day just by looking at it in detail.
My dog Suga could wear a camera on her head.
